Position: LEAD BUSINESS ANALYST
Location: HCMC

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Information Management Department of SMS Management & Technology Viet Nam is working towards establishing a world class Portfolio Management team to provide professional Business Analysis services in multiple business industries. The right candidate will have an excellent opportunity to work as a Lead Business Analyst at the forefront of major strategic IT projects. A key responsibility of this position will be to establish a high performing team expert in elicitation and documentation of business, functional and technical requirements.

PURPOSE

As a Lead Business Analyst with SMS Management & Technology Viet Nam the incumbent for this role will be directly responsible for providing high quality BA services in all situations with minimal guidance. As Lead BA you will be responsible for requirement elicitation and documentation standards and to act as a mentor to Business Analysts.

FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop ‘Requirement Management Plans’ that specify approach to be taken, roles & responsibilities, key relationships, deliverable and estimated time frames;
- Work with Project Manager’s to plan requirements activities and ensure these activities are built in to Project Plans;
- Take responsibility for the management of BA deliverable by leading and directing a team of business analysts to achieve project deliverable to agreed timelines;
- Facilitate discussion with stakeholders and vendors to understand their issues, needs and expectations;
- Elicit business requirements through consultation with business stakeholders, formal analysis and assessment of needs;
- Tactfully challenge stakeholder assumptions and expectations to ensure requirements are realistic and attainable and align with business plans and objectives;
- Develop business and system requirements specifications, process models, Use Case, User Stories, business rules documentation in accordance with agreed standards and methodologies;
- Contribute business analysis expertise during Solutions Architecture & Design Reviews;
- Work collaboratively with key resources to conceptualise and propose solution approaches;
- Participate in project Quality Assurance reviews and provide constructive feedback to project team members;
- Act as the liaison between the business partners and key vendors during requirement elicitation, documentation and quality management.
- Maintain timely communications to business stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure common understanding of requirements and impacts to business areas
- Contribute to the preparation of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans & scripts, and lead the business representatives in the conduct of UAT.
- Provide regular project status reports to project / programme managers
- Identify and document constraints, assumptions and risks associated with business requirements
- Participate in business case development;
- Keep abreast of latest trends in industry and technology. Stay abreast of corresponding business domain’s strategy and business plans; and
- Collaborate with Project teams and key stakeholders as required.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a Senior Business Analyst role (> 5 years)
- Business analysis techniques and tools e.g. requirements elicitation and analysis, requirements management, process analysis and modeling, process improvement, business process redesign, data analysis and modeling, cost benefit analysis,decision analysis, root cause analysis
- Proven experience in effective leadership of Business Analysis teams
- Strong relationship management ability with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience with SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Use Case and User Stories
- Ability to engage in creative thinking and is confident in decision making
- Proven ability in problem solving and resolving conflicts
- Negotiate and manage competing priorities within tight time frames
Ability to operate in an often rapidly changing environment; demonstrated flexibility in approach and attitude
- Competent in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)

RELEVANT QUALIFICATION
Degree in Information Technology, Business or appropriate tertiary qualification

SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Banking and Insurance Industries
International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) accreditation, including Certified Business Analysis Professionals (CBAP®) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®)Certification. Working towards IIBA certificate will be considered.
