Business Analyst/database Analyst Engineer
Skunkworks is seeking a talented individual for the position of Business Analyst/Database Analyst Engineer. This person will be primarily responsible for data manipulation and analysis by:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Retrieving data from sources
2. Aggregation, cleansing of data, normalizing of data
3. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
4. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver reports.
5. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
6. Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be able to write efficient algorithms (such as python matching)
2. Must be able to do valuable reports
3. Database skills such as SQL, MySQL, POstgres,
4. Knowledge about script language (python, unix shell, perl)
5. HTTP API - such as google api, facebook api...etc...
6. Experience with geographic based data is a PLUS.
7. Experience with localizing data is a PLUS!
8. Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
10. Great English verbal and written communication skills
11. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
12. Comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment
